Because I can’t watch and talk about all shows on here, sometimes due to times, other times due to a lack of interest in the show, I’ve added a discussion forum to the site. This way people who want to discuss Jericho, One Tree Hill and the likes will have a place to do so on this site.

You can get to the forums at http://forums.jielongmodel.com or by using the link at the top of the page. Right now it’s in the early stages, if people like it and make use of it then I’ll probably be tweaking it over time.

A Blahzay End To Betty?

A Blahzay End To Betty?

Posted by Dustin on 01。25。2008 at 3:31 pm

鼎宝福彩It appears last night’s episode of “Ugly Betty” is actually the last episode of the season, as “Lost” takes over next week. For me it was kind of a let down. I realize it wasn’t their fault, as the stike cut the season short, but other shows seemed to at least try and go out on a shocker.

鼎宝福彩Most of the episode focused on Betty, who asked to write a freelance article for the magazine。 Daniel allowed her to, as their other writer dropped out and they couldn’t replace them。 Betty thought she was interviewing some insightful author, but it turned out it was a guy who wrote books about how to score with women。 She was appalled and didn’t want to do it, but Daniel tricked her into doing it by claiming she wasn’t as open minded as he thought, and the writer requested someone else (which he didn’t)。 When she later confronted him about duping her, he told her that she had to learn to write about things she didn’t want to, that is what being a writer is about。

To do research for her article, Gio and Henry got into a war with each other testing out the book’s methods and asking women out, basically by being rude and insulting them to get their attention and then their numbers. Clearly what this was was a war not over the women, but over Betty. Who will win out in the end? Guess we have to wait till next season!

Amanda planned a concert to get Gene Simmon’s attention, thinking he was her dad。 He showed up and just seemed to accept she was his daughter and they left to talk。 That was it? There better be more to this story to come!

Finally Daniel unknowingly went out with Willy’s sister. He tried to break it off because of who she was, but Betty convinced him that if he liked her to date her, she may not be like Willy. Christina, who is resting at Willy’s place after the implantation, overheard Willy confront her sister about how if Daniel found out who she really was that it would be over. Very interesting, but for me not the cliffhanger I was hoping for. Now it seems we have to wait for next season to get some of these storylines resolved.

Project Runway: Catching Up

Posted by Dustin on 01。24。2008 at 10:02 pm

After marathons this week, I’m finally up to date with “Project Runway.” Honestly I don’t know what to say! Kit and Kevin both out? I thought they were some of the most “on” designers all season. When I look at who we are left with after this week? I just don’t know! I think Rhami will for sure end up in the final 3 (or 4 if they do that again this year). My other two choices, if it’s a final 3, are Jillian and Christian (though I hate to admit it, he’s a jerk). Sweet Pea I think has the potential to get there, and I hope she does.

Catching Up With Ugly Betty

Catching Up With Ugly Betty

Posted by Dustin on 01.24.2008 at 7:45 pm

I had a bit of a marathon to catch up with “Ugly Betty” after returning from vacation, especially given a new episode airs this week.

I loved seeing Annie Potts guest star as a psychic. She helped lead Amanda to her father, who appears to be Gene Simmons of Kiss? Too funny!

Daniel and Betty’s “real women” fashion show was also great!

Meanwhile Willy moved forward to get pregnant with Bradford’s frozen cocktail, but found out she had a hostile womb and needed a surrogate。 Of course this was easy to see where the story was headed 。 。 。 。 Christina needs money to save her husband’s life, so naturally she was picked to be the surrogate。 She doesn’t know it’s a Meade baby though。

The episode with Claire’s trial and Betty and the poisonous perfume was hilarious. Claire gave the perfume to Betty, saying Bradford gave it to her and it was her favorite. Amanda, having found Fey’s secret diary pages, learned she poisoned the perfume. First it would drive Claire mad, then kill her. Betty, using it only for a few days, went completely bonkers.

Betty figured out the perfume was poisoned when she ended up in the emergency room, but still couldn’t prove it as Amanda stole the perfume! In the end though Amanda came forward with the perfume and the diary pages and Claire went free. So I guess I was wrong, and Fey is really dead . . . or is she? Was it me, or was Fey’s voice Katey Sagal (aka Peg Bundy). If it was, and they brought her in as a voice for Fey, I would expect to see Faye alive at some point in the future.

Finally the stage is set for a big showdown between Gio and Henry over Betty! Betty knows that Gio likes her, because Amanda told her, but she was crazed out on the perfume and didn’t believe her at the time.

So I’ve decided to add ABC’s “Cashmere Mafia” to the blog. I’ve actually really enjoyed this show, even if it does seem to be a “Sex and the City” rip-off. The show is about for business women living in New York. Mia is a publishing mogul who lost her fiance when she won the job they were both competing for. Zoe is some kind of a wheeler and dealer for selling off companies, while having a family at home she feels guilty she’s neglecting. Juliet is a hotel mogul with a cheating husband, who she found out has been having an affair with a woman in the city. She also just found out he’s financially in trouble and about to wipe out their bank accounts. Finally Caitlin is a cosmetics exec who has had trouble relationships with men, and recently found herself attracted to a woman. Now however it seems she’s found herself attracted to a man again!

Is anyone watching? What are your thoughts? I’m actually really enjoying it. It’s silly and fun, with a touch of seriousness. I loved that Juliet finally kicked her hubby Davis to the curb. I was also glad Zoe, in the last episode, caught her co-worker and his little office fling Katherine trying to usurp her authority. Finally Caitlin, what a mess she is!

It will be interesting to see how it compares to NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle,” which debuts in February and is actually based on the second book from the author of “Sex and the City.”

Medium: The Dreams Continue

Medium: The Dreams Continue

Posted by Dustin on 01。22。2008 at 9:20 pm

Last week’s “Medium” I thought was just okay. In the episode Alison kept dreaming that Ariel died in a car accident where her car flipped after hitting a dear. Meanwhile Ariel was angry that Allison wouldn’t let her go to a concert with a boy until she was 16. She started dreaming about her mom sneaking out to a concert when she was 14, and followed in her footsteps. At the same time the woman from Ameritips was upset that Allison wasn’t much help with a kidnapped girl in the area. In the end, as in the last minute, it all came together. In the past, Allison and her friend Casey Tunstall got busted catching a ride to the concert. The cop dropped Allison off at her home and Casey, whose body Ariel took over in the dreams, was apparently raped or something equally horrific by the cop. Allison just suddenly figured out this cop kidnapped the missing girl Angelica Houston’s character was looking for. She figured this out when she learned her friend Casey died years ago when she hit a deer. Casey + Ariel = bad cop. While I enjoyed the fact that they concentrated more on the family dynamics, I just felt the mystery in this episode was lacking. It just suddenly came together at the last minute, which was a little blahzay for me. Oh and hello, I was expecting Allison’s friend to actually turn out to be the singer KT Tunstall! I sat there thinking that was the whole point of the show, the name was just so close, I thought a big cameo!

Last night’s episode was a bit more like the “Medium” I know and love。 Joe was up for a job at a company owned by Michael Gross。 His wife happened to be Dr。 Grey and was a big believer in Allison。 This came in handy when their daughter went missing。 Allison of course was confused, all her dreams were of the daughters first marriage and honeymoon in Paris 。 。 。 or where they? In the dream the daughter was unhappy and stabbed the man in the hand with a corkscrew! The big twist came when she learned the first husband made dioramas for museums, and had recreated their Paris hotel room down to the last detail。 He had kidnapped her and taken her there。 Of course she was rescued, but the father sold his company 。 。 。 to Diatech, Joe’s old company。 The show ended with them discussing the possibility of moving as Joe couldn’t find jobs anywhere。

Now the bad news 。 。 。 no new “Mediums” for four weeks! Nooooooo!

Brothers and Sisters: Drama At The Dinner Table!

Brothers and Sisters: Drama At The Dinner Table!

Posted by Dustin on 01.21.2008 at 6:32 pm

Finally we got a new episode of “Brothers and Sisters” and it looks like in early February we’ll be getting another, which could be the last of the season.

In this episode Nora decided to invite Isaac over for dinner, but was too afraid of a date and used the premise of a family dinner to spend time with him。 I loved when Sarah figured this out she was teasing her mom。

Meanwhile, Steven Weber’s character continued to pursue Sarah in this episode. She seemed turned off that he may have cheated in the past, depending on how you defined cheat. Sarah claims she never cheated in 10 years of marriage. Wait just a minute there, at the beginning of the show Sarah seemed to be meeting with a man and was very close to an affair! Steven’s character felt she was holding back, and he’d find out what about. Honestly, I am not sure I like these two together, it’s not working for me. Maybe they can change my mind.

Jason emailed Kevin, he’s coming back to town and wants to have lunch. Oh uh! Kevin accepted, but dreaded telling Scotty. I am thrilled Jason (Eric Winter) is returning, but I’m not liking this story at all and am feeling for poor Scotty, who it seems clearly is just Kevin’s substitute for Jason because he didn’t want to be alone. Jason is his Mr. Right, Scotty became his Mr. Right Now/There.

At Nora’s dinner, of course, everything blows up. Robert’s “withholding” of the fact he wasn’t sure he wanted kids came out, and Kitty wasn’t thrilled. I loved his politician response that he wasn’t saying no, but he didn’t no if the time wasn’t right and he wasn’t taking it off the table completely. I’m sorry, I could have sworn you told your aid you didn’t want any more kids and told your own bratty daughter you wouldn’t have new kids with Kitty. Do I have to call you senator flip flop from now on? He’s on my bad side right now.

Justin admitted he was still dating Lena, and Tommy admitted Lena was a mistake。 Oops, as expected Julia walked in and heard this。 I knew the tension between Tommy and Justin over Lena would result in Julia finding out。 The real shocker came when Julia revealed while home with her parents, she too had an affair。 Julia and Tommy decided to work on their relationship and move past it。 I hope they get some marriage counseling though! I hate what Tommy (and Julia) did, but at the same time I hate that Julia also ran home to mommy and daddy when things got tough。

Eventually Nora kicked all her kids out when everything hit the fan。 Isaac stayed behind and then told her that next time he was in town, they should have dinner, just the two of them without the family。 So cute!

鼎宝福彩Throughout the show, Robert’s campaign continued to come under fire from McAdams, who was also running for the republican nomination。 Kitty found out that Isaac and Robert were sitting on a land mine, the fact that McAdams had a special needs son he hid away and they had an atrocious voting record on special needs legislation。 Kitty wanted to use it, as did Isaac who had a special needs son of his own and was ashamed of McAdams, but Robert wouldn’t play dirty politics。 Only a TV politician would say that! If only real life could be more like TV! In the end though, somehow McAdams was exposed and he dropped out。 Kitty swore it wasn’t them 。 。 。 hmmmm 。 。 。 。 。 I have a feeling Issac leaked the story behind Robert’s back 。 。 。 especially after he revealed one of his son’s was special needs too。 I think it hit too close to home for him。 Robert of course is now the front runner for the republican nomination。

Finally we come to Rebbecca, Holly and the mysterious David (Ken Olin)。 Rebbecca invited David for dinner, apparently trying to rekindle the flame between him and her mom。 Holly let her no it wouldn’t happen, but wouldn’t give details。 We did get one huge question answered, Holly assured Rebbecca that David wasn’t her father, William was。 Whew! I was expecting a blow up there。 But then why is Holly not willing to get close to David and why doesn’t she believe he just moved back to town and looked her up? Something is going on there。 Either a drug problem or a prostitution scam comes to mind。

I’m finally back! I’m trying to organize my Tivo priorities for what to watch。 Given there is a new “Medium” tomorrow, I’ll probably watch it tonight。 Same with “Cashmere Mafia,” I have an episode of it to watch too。 “Brothers and Sisters,” “Grey’s” and I think “Ugly Betty” are done (there might be one last episode of Ugly Betty, I’ll have to check)。 So I’ll be getting to them when I can。 Sadly “Project Runway” didn’t tape! I’ll have to hope for a Bravo marathon soon to catch up。
