The Gates Season/Series? Finale

The Gates Season/Series? Finale

Posted by Dustin on 09.20.2010 at 1:07 pm

So last night ABC aired two back to back episodes for a “Gates” season finale. ABC has yet to renew it, so it was probably the series finale unless they decide to give shows more than one shot to pick up steam.

The finale dealt with Frank deciding he was getting older than Vanessa, and he wanted her to turn him into a Vampire。 A jealous Devon put a plan into motion, using a tea-addict Sarah to poison Frank’s blood。 When Vanessa bit him, she shriveled and died! Frank’s blood became an anti-vampire syrum, and then the Wolves were after him for his blood。 Left alone, Frank seemingly shot himself。

Devon was caught as Vanessa’s killer。 Because she used Claire’s blood in her potion, it meant Claire and Dylan could be in trouble with the council。 They wanted to find her before the others did and Devon talked。

Brett was jealous of Andie dating Charlie again, so he watered her medicine down. However when Andie and Charlie ran away, he realized they had to get to them before something bad happened. Of course it did, and Charlie was sucked to the point of death. Dr. Peg said Devon was the only one who could save him. However it would be through the dark arts . . . and there was always a price.

The Chief got to Devon in time, and Claire and Dylan dealt with the other vampires to buy him time. Devon did save Charlie . . . but there was a price! As Claire and Dylan came to kill Devon, Charlie showed up with glowing red eyes and demonic like powers. Devon said she brought him back . . . she never said he’d be the same!

Andy, upset over what happened, ran away from the Gates.

We also learned what officer Leigh was after so many weeks。 Well kind of。 The other guy who always had a crush on her, he began snooping into her life and found her box。 Inside was her heart! Leigh said she fell in love with a boy as a kid。 When she broke it off, he used Voodoo to take her heart out so she could never love again。 The other guy then told her someone had been calling the station looking for an Isabella Armond。 That’s Leigh’s real name 。 。 。 it seems her old boyfriend knows where she is!

So we were left with some questions answered, but a lot of new questions!

Did Frank really shoot himself, or did someone else? Is he even dead? Vanessa did bite him. Maybe he staged his death?

What exactly is Leigh? A walking corpse? My guess is she’s a zombie.

And what is Charlie now? A demon? Or did Devon make herself a protector to keep the Radcliffes from being able to kill her?

The Gates Season Finale

The Gates Season Finale

Posted by Dustin on 08.27.2010 at 6:49 pm

“The Gates” wraps up with 2 back to back episodes on Sunday, September 19th。 I had posted the first part in an earlier post, which airs from 9-10pm。 Here are the spoilers for the second episode, airing from 10-11pm。

“Moving Day” – Devastated by Vanessa’s death and Sarah’s culpability in Buckley’s suicide, the Monohans prepare to leave The Gates. But when Charlie runs away with Andie, it sets off a dangerous chain of events. Meanwhile, the Radcliffes are in hot pursuit of the elusive witch, Devon, who has the ability to destroy their entire race. Brett Crezki is also on the hunt, desperately trying to find Andie before her Succubus side emerges. As all these threads converge, it becomes clear that the one person no one can trust is the one person the Monohans need the most, on the Season Finale of “The Gates,” SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The Gates Spoilers for September

These should be the final two episodes of “The Gates,” as the weekend after “Housewives” and “Brothers and Sisters” are back on for the season premiers. Still no word if we’ll get this back next summer. My guess at this point is not.

NICK’S SECRETS ARE ABOUT TO SURFACE, ON ABC’S “THE GATES”
“Surfacing” – A grim secret has been buried and forgotten in the sodden banks of the river . . . or has she? Nick’s past once again comes back to haunt him, and this time the demons are more real than he could fathom. Claire fears her own family is in jeopardy when Emily’s Aunt Nancy shows up with a social worker in tow, asking pointed questions about life in the Radcliffe home. Dana realizes that a lovesick brother is a miserable person to live with, and endeavors to reunite Charlie and Andie. But the teen romance is put on hold when someone-or something-plots to torment the Monohan family, on “The Gates,” SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest Starring are McKaley Miller as Dana Monohan, Georgia Kole as Emily Radcliff, Shannon Lucio as Teresa, Lori Heuring as Nancy and Ashley LeCont Campbell as Mrs. Stanley.

Presumed Season Finale (or part 1 of a 2 part finale as this airs at 9pm) of “The Gates”
鼎宝福彩 “Bad Moon Rising” – Buckley and Vanessa make a controversial decision that threatens to tear apart the neighborhood. Reeling from the discovery that The Gates is teeming with Supernaturals, Sarah pulls away from those who kept her in the dark and seeks respite in her friendship with Devon. But Sarah is about to find out that Devon is the one person she should never have trusted. And angered that Andie and Charlie are once again an item, Brett resorts to drastic measures–ones that will have lasting consequences–on “The Gates,” SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

I’m not sure when “The Gates” will have its finale, because again it doesn’t indicate this is the season finale。 Still no word on whether it or “Scoundrels” will have other seasons, which given the way “Scoundrels” ended last night would suck!

THE RADCLIFFS HAVE SOME BURIED SECRETS THAT THREATEN TO DESTROY THEM, ON ABC’S “THE GATES”

“Little Girl Lost” – When a vindictive madman kidnaps their daughter, Dylan and Claire frantically enlist Nick’s help. But as the search for Emily leads them far from The Gates, Nick begins to learn some horrifying truths about the couple’s vampiric past. Feeling increasingly in the dark, Sarah presses her husband on the eerie details of the case. Meanwhile, Brett contends with the realities of a relationship with Andie, and Charlie becomes painfully aware that the people around him are . . . not human, on “The Gates,” SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest starring are Georgia Cole as Emily Radcliff, Paul Blackthorne as Christian Harper, Rachel DiPillo as Lexie, Gloria Votsis as Vanessa Buckley, Lori Heuring as Nancy and Russ Blackwell as John.

The Gates / Scoundrels Pre-Finale Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 08.13.2010 at 5:19 pm

So “Scoundrels” ends its season this Sunday, and it looks like “The Gates” ends next Sunday (as no further releases are out for it). As far as I know, ABC has not announced if they’ll bring either back next summer. My guess is not, which is a shame as both were really good shows.

I really like “Scoundrels” as it’s funny and cute。 I like Chery’s flirtations with Detective Mack, though it looks like Wolf might be sprung from jail in the finale。 Uh-oh! I also can’t help but think Patty Hong will end up pregnant, at the same time her step-mom is, both by one of the twins。

On “The Gates” it would appear Frank Buckley isn’t the supreme evil in “The Gates . . . ” Devon is. She seems to be collecting all she needs to possibly make a creature? A hybrid vampire and wolf? I’m not sure what she’s doing, but it’s interesting! I still want answers though on the police girl’s secret, before the end of the season/show.

Just A Little Murder and Blackmail on The Gates

Just A Little Murder and Blackmail on The Gates

Posted by Dustin on 08.02.2010 at 9:29 pm

I neglected to write about last week’s episode of “The Gates,” so I wanted to get a post in after this week’s episode. I don’t know what to think . . . I am more interested in some of the tidbits they drop than the stories they choose to focus on. For example a few weeks ago we learned the female cop at the station was a supernatural and had a secret . . . but have not revisited. At the end of this week we learned Devon the witch also has a really big secret . . . at the end of the show she had all these bizarre skinned facemasks she was hanging up. Whose were they? I hope they won’t drop this one too.

On this episode Barbara the town gossip (and bar trolling slut it would seem) was murdered, apparently by a vampire. Nick/The Chief spent the show getting to the bottom of things, with Dylan also looking into it. By the end of the show the mystery was solved, but Nick and Dylan found themselves blackmailed by Frank Buckly, who knew Dylan had killed the one girl trying to kill Nick.

I definitely like that Nick is making friends with these people, and realizing they aren’t the monsters they seem to be. Again I just wish we’d break away from these stories focusing almost only on the vampires and the werewolves. There is Andy and her succubus side, but it’s annoying because it seems clear that this season is going to end with her probably taking Nick’s son to the brink of death.

鼎宝福彩Of note, “Scoundrels” concludes it’s season on the 15th. However “The Gates” release for the same night makes no mention that this is it’s season finale . . . so “The Gates” might have a few more episodes left.

The Gates and Scoundrels Thoughts for Sunday the 18th

The Gates and Scoundrels Thoughts for Sunday the 18th

Posted by Dustin on 07。19。2010 at 4:27 pm

Both great shows last night, but I’m beginning to enjoy “The Gates” more and more. Each show brings something new, though I’m not sure where it will all lead.

I was right about the photographer girl who was sleeping and moving in with the young cop. She had it out for someone, but I never would have guessed it was the Chief, who confessed to killing a man in cold blood this week. The man ended up being the girls brother, who was a rapist and a child murderer that was going to walk on technicalities. The chief lied and said the guy pulled a gun on him. As he put it, the guy was a monster, but is he now too? It gives him a weakness and puts him in place with the other real monsters he now lives among, and maybe will bring his moral judgements down a little?

The show ended with the vampire husband (Nicholas?) saving the chief from the girl. The secrets out now! Next week should be good. With that girl gone, I suspect the deputy guy will hook up with the computer girl at the station perhaps? I want more of her story honestly. I want to know if I’m right and she’s basically a genie out of the bottle.

The succubus girl (Andy, at least I remembered one name!) who is dating the Chief’s son finally got the talk from her dad, after she came close to killing the Chief’s son. He just thinks he has mono though, which is what the doctor told him to keep him away from the girl for now. It will be interesting to see how she reacts.

I have noticed though that the monster parts of the townspeople have been modernized it seems. A succubus is actually a demon, so how did the girl’s mother die? Was she exorcised? Meanwhile Claire and her husband (as well as Christian) seem to be able to eat and drink real food, which normally Vampires don’t often do in folklore.

“The Scoundrels” was good, but I was falling asleep and started FFing to get to the end. Basically the mother decided rather than fight Wolf’s appeal from jail, she’d let him do the time, as it was what was best for the family. Wolf got out for the day to attend a funeral, and the kids were way too happy to see him back and were falling into old patterns. The mom decided she couldn’t let that happen. Meanwhile we got to see just how much Wolf and the prodigal son Logan don’t get along. Wolf was pretty nasty and cold to him! I’m not sure where this show will go now that Wolf is stuck in jail. Clearly though if he got out too soon, the premise of the show is over.

The Gates and Scoundrels Return!

The Gates and Scoundrels Return!

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 07.12.2010 at 8:18 pm

鼎宝福彩ABC’s summer shows “The Gates” and “Scoundrels” returned, a long with a whole lot of shows that were not on last weekend due to the 4th。

On “The Gates” the whole police force was trying to find out who was able to trip house alarms all over the gates. It started off as false alarms, but then the person responsible really began to rob houses. In the end it turned out to be the history/computer science teacher at the high school. I may have missed it, but I am not sure if he had a motive other than robbery?

One of the houses robbed, well the police officer in charge of the security system and computers lived there。 Something was stolen from her, and it affected her wellbeing。 The doctor told her she had to get “it” back, the longer “they” were separated the worse it would be for her 。 。 。 This officer also got into a beef with the geeky male cop who is dating the young girl from outside the gates。 She moved in with him, and the female cop was suspicious (jealous?)。 He lashed out saying she is always going off on there is no such thing as love 。 。 。 never fall in love 。 。 。 and he thinks she doesn’t even know what love is。 However I think something is up with this girl, she is on a mission to get into the gates for some reason I bet。

In the end, the female cop confronted the teacher. He said he would return everything he stole if nobody pressed charges, and then made a comment about the weird people she lived with. She said she needed to make sure he took their secrets to the grave . . . and shot him! The last we saw she was putting a bizarre box back into a cabinet, and we saw a photo of her with a guy. I’m thinking the guys soul is in there maybe? She looks middle eastern, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Is she a Genie/Djinn? Was that her bottle or something?

The succubus girl (Annie?) ended up breaking up with the football/werewolf boy and deciding to give things a shot with the Chief’s son (Charlie?)。 I still don’t remember all their names, and it doesn’t help that they introduce new characters every show! The werewolf boy/football star is getting more and more involved with the white trash werewolf boy and his gang of wolves, which the mom doesn’t like as her husband and older son got killed by hunters。

鼎宝福彩Finally Claire met up with an old friend Christian (Brooke Shield’s husband from “Lipstick Jungle”) and he was a vamp too. He enticed her into feeding on real humans outside the gates. We also got a little more into Claire’s relationship with her husband. She is pretending to be the perfect home maker wife for him for some reason . . . .

Over on “The Scoundrels” we got a very Logan focused episode, and I really enjoyed it. We finally got to see Logan embrace his “West” side.

Heather meanwhile is waitressing in a strip club hoping it will lead to modeling jobs。 Something tells me it will lead to something bad 。 。 。 for her and a customer!

Finally Cheryl got a job offer from a family friend (guest star Grant Show) who just wanted in her pants. That didn’t set well with Wolf, who ratted his business out to get Cheryl out of that position. Just seeing Grant Show being all horned up made me miss “Swingtown.” Sniff Sniff.
